PhotoConcierge is eight months old and in this journey we have acquainted several photographers, who have not just shown immense support but have also sold a lot of photographs to our clientele who are looking at buying some stunning digital media or have received much appreciation. Saurabh Chatterjee is one such photographer who has sold several of his travel photographs to leading publications through PhotoConcierge. Here is a snippet to the life of this travel photographer
What is your dream as a photographer?
My dream in life is to see ‘India’ properly. It is such a gigantic country with culture and traditions literally changing every 100 Kms. I love to travel to different destinations in India and bring back imageries for my friends and family to see and enjoy and of course for me to cherish the memories. Travel Photography surely is my instinct! I love to capture the flavours of these places – the incredible landscape, people and their culture, food that is so vibrant and all that our country has to offer. I love to face the challenges that a travel photographer has to undergo in India when they get to explore unknown spaces or territories.
Pick just one photograph from your collection so far and tell us why you love it?
My favourite picture is the picture of Rameshwaram Temple. This picture really challenged my patience levels. I wanted to take a picture without people which was almost impossible the Temple is mostly flooded with people.
I went there early in the morning but being one of the most popular temples in India, it was very difficult to shoot. Shot after shot, it took almost an hour for me to get this particular shot. It is now a very rare photograph as photography is no more allowed there. This was used by Incredible India’s campaign and also displayed as a big hoarding in Mumbai International Airport.
Your take on Stock Photography and your experience with PhotoConcierge?
Stock photography is a great way of getting additional support to your income without putting in extra work. You are already shooting anyways, why not make the most of it?
It has been a great experience with PhotoConcierge so far and am looking forward for this association to grow further.
Whats the next project in pipeline? Where are you flying to?
The next two months, I will be travelling to Pushkar for the cattle fair and then to Varanasi for Dev Diwali followed by a 20 day trip to North East to attend some local fairs.
